Festival MétaMusiques

Time for you

PRESENTATION FILE

For 72 hours, 12 free-entrance concerts and numerous musical impromptus come one after another, freezing time and overwhelming places with sound. At the confluence of scholar and popular, written and oral traditions, at crossroads of 16th and 21st century times, from baroque lute to laptop, at convergence between continents, from the Pays Basque to Zen gardens including India, from Napolitano tarantella to American minimalists through Gaelic folklores and Occitan language, artists make light of boundaries and talk to anyone.

MétaMusiques is neither a simple invitation to travel and discovering, nor just a warm and familial atmosphere. Considering the frenetic pace of life today, the festival intends to enable various audiences to share a total and free from clichés experience. Because music is the art of time and because it improves one of the most universal and essential ability: attention.

This festival gives room and space to musicians from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
