Festival MétaMusiques - 2nd edition

A weekend of free concerts with more than 30 artists brought together through live music performances

METAMUSIQUES PROGRAM

MétaMusiques is a musical event centered around tradition – sophisticated/popular, written/oral, Western/global…

Above all, it is an event that puts the spotlight on local artists:  90% of the festival’s artists originate from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Regardless of their geographical or aesthetic roots, all of these artists are researchers, experimenters, performers, and creators who are passionate about encounters and unknown territories, ready to explore different genres of music.

It is also about the desire to go beyond music and offer other ways to experience and enjoy it: at concerts of course, but also impromptu parades, listening sessions, meetings with the artists, storytelling, hybrid performances, workshops for children, films, and many other moments with an emphasis on bringing people together and on culture.

Finally, it is an upbeat and intergenerational rendez-vous. In turns – or at the same time – incredible and familiar, immemorial and innovative, the sounds at MétaMusiques festival appeal to all ears, from absolute beginners to music aficionados, and to all generations. The MétaKids program adds a welcoming and upbeat dimension.

The program of this edition takes us from Gascony to Africa, from Chamboulive (Corrèze) to New York, and from Eastern Europe to the Italian Renaissance.
