Frugalestudio is a collective based in France, consisting of Anna Talec (set designer) and Julie Brugier (designer-researcher). Frugalestudio explores and showcases modest resources and traditional know-how from rural and agricultural settings. As designers intentionally rooted in the territories where they work, they focus on issues of simplicity and ecology. During their residency at the Foundation, they engage with the hemp industry, which is currently being reintroduced in Poitou-Charentes, aiming to develop and promote this local material while examining its thermal resistance in comparison to glass. Their objective is to create a dialogue between agriculture and habitat, blending the rusticity of straw with the sophistication of glass.
