Project : Still Life

Camille Azaïs, author and art critic, joined the Foundation for a writing residency to explore the potential connections between art and life in rural settings. Her forthcoming book will examine how artists draw on the unique characteristics of the rural world to invent new forms of art, with a particular focus on the social dimension of art production. Her writing project aims to investigate artistic practices emerging in a rural context through the lens of the still life genre, specifically in the representation of “things” in art history: objects, plants, animals.
